Heartbroken Mother Demands Justice For Slain Corps Member, Salome Eleojo Adaidu

Mrs. Ojomachenwu Adaidu, mother of the late Salome Eleojo Adaidu, a 24-year-old corps member murdered by Abuja gospel singer Timileyin Ajayi, has called for justice in a moving interview.

Salome’s Ambitions and Kind Nature

Salome Eleojo Adaidu, a graduate of Kogi State University, was described by her mother as a hardworking, kindhearted, and responsible young woman. “She was the most hardworking of my children. She promised to take care of me after her father’s passing,” Mrs. Adaidu shared tearfully.

Salome Eleojo Adaidu had dreams of becoming a doctor after completing her National Youth Service. “She told me she wanted to further her studies and make me proud,” her mother said.

The Tragic Incident

Salome’s gruesome murder shocked the nation when Ajayi was arrested with her severed head. Despite Ajayi’s claim that Salome was his girlfriend, her mother refuted the allegation. “That’s a lie. He didn’t even know her name. Salome had no relationship with him and was already dating someone else—a pharmacist,” she explained.

A Grieving Mother’s Demand for Justice

The tragedy has left Mrs. Adaidu devastated. She has lost both her husband, who passed away in May 2024, and now her daughter. “People say I have other children, but no one should go through this. I want the police to investigate and make him confess what happened thoroughly,” she pleaded.

Overcome with emotion, Mrs. Adaidu called for the harshest punishment for her daughter’s killer. “The way he cut my daughter into pieces is the same way I want him to be dealt with. He should face the consequences for what he did.”

Salome’s Legacy

Beyond her ambition, Salome Eleojo Adaidu was known for her generosity. “Every time she received her allowance, she would buy me drugs, foodstuffs, and provisions. She was so caring,” her mother reminisced.

The tragic loss of Salome has left a deep void in her family. As the investigation continues, her grieving mother hopes justice will bring some measure of peace to her broken heart.
