Popular music icon, King Sunny Ade has come online to debunk rumour that he was kidnapped.
Veteran juju singer King Sunny Ade has once again dismissed rumours of his alleged abduction, confirming in a new video that he is alive and well.
The music icon, popularly known as KSA, appeared in a clip shared on Tuesday on the Facebook page of his daughter, Bose Adegeye, where he addressed his fans directly.
“My people, I thank you, I thank you and I thank you. I know you’ve all been concerned about what has been trending. They didn’t kidnap me. Nobody kidnapped me. I pray I won’t get kidnapped. I believe that the whole world is in love with me. So I can’t be kidnapped,” he said.
QED.ng earlier reported that the 78-year-old dismissed claims by his daughter Damilola Adegeye, who alleged on social media that he had gone missing.
Responding to the allegation in a statement posted on Instagram, KSA wrote:
“Contrary to the falsehood and fabricated news dated 28th April, 2025 peddled by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her Associates who declared that I was missing, I hereby state as follows:
“1. That I, Dr. Sunday Adeniyi-Adegeye MFR, also known as King Sunny Ade, am alive and well.
2. The falsehood about my disappearance or being missing by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her cohorts are completely false.
3. I am alive, well and grateful for the love and support of my Fans, thanks for your concern.
4. It is very important to address the falsehood and fabricated news by Damilola Esther Adeniyi-Adegeye and her associates and to assure the general Public and loved ones that I am alive and safe.
5. Lastly, I utilize this medium to admonish the Blogger(s) responsible for this mischievous act alongside those that take undue privileges to trample on my hard earned reputation and image to desist forthwith otherwise be prepared to face the wrath of the Law.
6. Thank you and God bless all.”
Damilola, who resides abroad, had accused her stepbrother Dayo Adegeye of holding their father hostage and mismanaging his career.
However, Dayo and his brother David Adegeye refuted the claim, stating that their father was in good health.
Dayo also clarified his role, saying he is not officially KSA’s manager but only steps in to assist when needed.
