President Bola Tinubu on Friday arrived in Lagos following his diplomatic trips to France, Kenya and Rwanda.
The presidential aircraft landed at the Presidential Wing of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja at about 7:12 p.m.
According to a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu was welcomed by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Deputy Governor Femi Hamzat, Chief of Staff to the President Femi Gbajabiamila, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa and other government officials.
The statement noted that while in France, Tinubu met with international investors where he highlighted his administration’s commitment to transparency, fiscal discipline and ongoing economic reforms.
“President Tinubu, while in France, met with global investors, emphasising transparency and fiscal discipline and explaining the rationale for the swift implementation of the bold economic reforms his administration has instituted,” the statement read.
The President also attended the Africa Forward Summit in Nairobi, Kenya, hosted jointly by French President Emmanuel Macron and Kenyan President William Ruto.
During the summit, Tinubu advocated reforms in the global financial system and called for stronger economic cooperation across Africa.
“At the event, President Tinubu called for a reform of global financial architecture and a stronger economic integration that prioritises Africa’s growth and prosperity,” the statement added.

He also spoke about Nigeria’s opportunities in the blue economy sector and pledged to support Gulf of Guinea countries by sharing Nigeria’s maritime intelligence infrastructure.
While in Nairobi, the Nigerian leader also held talks with Madagascan President Michael Randrianirina.
In Rwanda, Tinubu participated in the Africa CEO Forum alongside African leaders, investors and business executives, where discussions centred on economic transformation, regional partnerships and investment opportunities across the continent.
The President also met with Rwandan President Paul Kagame and representatives of multinational organisations, including the International Finance Corporation, APM Terminals and the Winme Group.
According to the statement, the engagements recorded “notable favourable outcomes.”
Tinubu also took part in panel discussions focused on his administration’s economic reform policies.
The statement further disclosed that the President would remain in Lagos to participate in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries scheduled to begin on Saturday.
It added that Tinubu had earlier advised party members involved in the primaries to maintain peace and act as “sportsmen and women in the overall interest of the party and our country.”
