The Super Eagles of Nigeria have successfully defended their Unity Cup crown after defeating Jamaica 3-0 in the final held at the Valley Stadium in London on Saturday.
Alhassan Yusuf starred with a brace, while Terem Moffi also got on the scoresheet as Nigeria wrapped up victory with a dominant display in front of a solid crowd, despite the match coinciding with the UEFA Champions League final.
The win confirms Nigeria as four-time winners of the invitational tournament, having previously lifted the title in 2002 and 2004, and again in the most recent edition after its revival, where they also beat Jamaica on penalties in the final.
Head coach Eric Chelle made just one change to the side that defeated Zimbabwe 2-0 in the semi-final earlier in the week.
Nigeria wasted no time asserting control, taking the lead after just three minutes when Yusuf arrived at the back post to convert after the Jamaican goalkeeper failed to deal with an aerial ball.

The Super Eagles doubled their advantage early in the second half. Femi Azeez drove to the byline and delivered a low cross across goal, which Moffi met with a powerful header into an empty net.
The third goal came in style following a swift counterattack involving Philip Otele and Yusuf, with the midfielder curling a precise effort from the edge of the box into the bottom corner to seal the emphatic win.
