Troops of Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have rescued three kidnapped victims following a terrorist attack on a commercial vehicle along the Anka–Gummi road in Zamfara State.
The rescue was carried out after the troops, who were on routine patrol in Anka Local Government Area, received information that terrorists had attacked a commercial vehicle along the highway.
According to security analyst Zagazola Makama in a post shared on X, the soldiers immediately moved to the location after receiving the alert and engaged the attackers.
The terrorists reportedly retreated into the surrounding area during the confrontation, leaving the victims behind.
The troops subsequently rescued the three captives and recovered a handheld communication radio said to have been abandoned by the fleeing attackers.
