Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, a foremost Nigerian Islamic scholar and leader of the Tijjaniyyah Sufi order, has passed away.
According to family sources, the revered cleric died on Thursday at a private hospital in Bauchi following a brief illness. Arrangements for his funeral rites have begun, with full details expected to be made public shortly.
Born around 1927 in Gombe, Sheikh Bauchi devoted more than 70 years to teaching Qur’anic exegesis (tafsir) and guiding a vast community of followers across West Africa.

He was widely respected as the Khalifah of the Tijjaniyyah Ibrahimiyyah movement in Nigeria and also served as the deputy chairman of the Fatwa Committee of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).
The renowned scholar leaves behind numerous children, students, and devoted followers who continue to uphold his teachings.
