The Oyo State Government has demolished a building identified as a kidnappers’ hideout in the Lakoun community along the Ayegun–Olojuoro Road in Ibadan.
The structure was reportedly used as the base where Mrs Olaide Adegoke John-Paul, sister of former Minister of Power, Bayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons were held before they were rescued over the weekend.
A local media platform, Oyo Affairs, shared footage of the demolition on Monday via X, confirming that the property had been pulled down by the state government following the rescue operation.
The report indicated that the action came after a security assessment of the site conducted by the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Oluwagbemiga Abimbola, shortly after the rescue.
Another online platform, Oyo Matters, also posted images and videos of the demolition, noting that the building was completely levelled due to its use in the kidnapping operation.

The operation is linked to the recent abduction incident in which two members of the kidnapping gang were killed during a security raid that led to the victims’ rescue. Four suspects were also arrested and later paraded by the police at the State Headquarters in Eleyele, Ibadan.
Authorities have urged residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity, especially individuals linked to the fleeing members of the criminal network involved in the abduction.
