Senator Ned Nwoko has appealed to the public, especially supporters and associates of his estranged wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, to allow her privacy as she focuses on her recovery.

The lawmaker also cautioned bloggers and social media users against circulating fabricated reports about the actress, warning that those responsible could face legal consequences.

Nwoko made the appeal in a statement posted on his Instagram page, where he expressed concern over what he described as false death announcements, misleading health reports and other hurtful publications about Daniels.

He said the situation was particularly concerning because the actress’s children deserved to have their mother supported as she dealt with her personal challenges.

“I want to make a sincere appeal to the public, particularly Regina’s fans, friends, bloggers and social media commentators, to please give Regina some breathing space,” he said.

According to the senator, Daniels had experienced difficult moments and needed encouragement, affection and time to heal rather than further public scrutiny.

“Regina has been through a lot, more than many people may realise, and right now, what she needs most is love, support and the opportunity to recover.”

He also referred to a video the actress posted on her birthday, saying it provided an insight into some of the health difficulties she had faced.

Nwoko maintained that her circumstances should not be used as an excuse to attack or condemn her.

The senator further stated that Daniels’ welfare had always been important to him, noting that concerns about her condition influenced his decision to make certain aspects of their private affairs public.

He particularly condemned online publications falsely claiming that the actress had died, as well as reports making unverified assertions about her health and personal life.

“These things are not harmless social media engagement. Regina sees many of these posts, and they are deeply distressing. They do nothing to support her recovery, rather, they add to the burden she is already carrying,” he said.

He called on her fans and well-wishers to discourage the circulation of such content instead of giving it further attention.

Nwoko also warned bloggers and other social media users against deliberately publishing false claims about Daniels, particularly those relating to her death, health and private affairs.

“We are documenting these publications, and anyone found responsible will be held accountable through the appropriate legal channels,” he said.

The senator reiterated that the actress should be allowed to concentrate on her recovery without being subjected to fabricated stories and continued public criticism.
