Mojisola Meranda has been re-elected as the Deputy Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, just hours after resigning from her role as Speaker.
Meranda, who stepped down on Monday afternoon, pledged to continue serving the state in good faith in her new capacity.
During the plenary session, she formally announced her resignation as Speaker, paving the way for the nomination of Mudashiru Obasa as the next Speaker. The House is now set to make a final decision on the leadership transition.
