At least 15 people have been kidnapped while one person lost their life following coordinated attacks by armed bandits on communities in Katsina State.

The development was disclosed in a post on X by security analyst Bakatsine on Friday.

According to the report, the attackers first invaded Unguwar Dambu in the Gora Dan Saka district of Malumfashi Local Government Area, where no fewer than 15 residents were abducted.

A few hours later, the assailants reportedly advanced to Gora community, launching another attack around 3 a.m. During the incident, two residents were shot, with one later succumbing to injuries.

The situation was further worsened by the reported death of a pregnant woman, who allegedly collapsed out of fear upon hearing about the presence of the bandits in the area.

Reacting to the development, the analyst raised concerns over the persistent insecurity in the region.

“How much longer will communities in northwest Nigeria continue to live under the constant threat of banditry without lasting security solutions?” he asked.

As of the time of this report, security agencies are yet to issue an official statement regarding the attacks.
