The Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) has initiated the compensation process for property owners and tenants impacted by the proposed Blue Line rail depot in Okokomaiko, Lagos State.
According to a statement released on Thursday via the agency’s official page, the disbursement of funds is scheduled to run from Wednesday through Friday.
The announcement followed a stakeholders’ meeting held at the palace of the Oniba of Iba Kingdom, Oba Sulaimon Adeshina, where tenants and property owners at the proposed depot site were briefed on the compensation procedures.
LAMATA outlined the requirements for claims, noting, “Tenants were informed that to facilitate the processing of their claims, they are required to present an official Project Affected Persons card issued during the earlier enumeration exercise, as well as a tenancy rent payment receipt from their landlord. They are also expected to submit recent passport photographs and a valid means of official identification.”
