Fuji icon King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal (KWAM 1) kicked off the new year with generosity, gifting his longest-serving band member, Fatai Oluperi Ayinla, a whopping N20 million.

The memorable gesture took place on Wednesday, January 1, during the “New Year Dance” concert at Balmoral Convention Center, Sheraton Ikeja, Lagos.

While presenting the cash gift, KWAM 1 praised Ayinla’s unwavering dedication and contributions to the band’s success over the years. The announcement sparked cheers and applause from the audience.

As if the N20 million wasn’t enough, filmmaker and “Seven Doors” producer Femi Adebayo also donated an additional N500,000 to Ayinla in recognition of his loyalty and service.

Social media users have commended KWAM 1’s generosity and the recognition of Ayinla’s efforts:

  • @officialseidu: “This is the example we need.”
  • @lokogbagba: “Alabi Pasuma started the rewarding of band members for their loyalty. It’s good other musicians now follow suit.”
  • @officialab_chin: “Nice one! I think a decent home is better for long-serving staff if provisions have not been made.”

The gesture highlights the importance of appreciating those who remain loyal to their craft and team over the years.
