Spanish international Pablo Paez Gavira, popularly known as Gavi, has signed a new contract with Barcelona, extending his stay at the club until June 2030.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who made his first-team debut in 2021 at just 17, expressed his excitement on social media, saying, “I’m very happy to continue with the club of my life and I hope that we will give you a lot of joy this season.”
Gavi’s journey has been remarkable, but he faced a major setback in November 2023 when he suffered a severe knee injury while playing for Spain, forcing him to miss Euro 2024, where his country emerged champions.

Despite spending almost a year on the sidelines, Gavi made his return to action in October 2024. Barcelona praised his character, drive, and technical ability, stating that his contract renewal was a deserved reward for his resilience.
Barcelona, currently third in LaLiga, are seven points behind leaders Real Madrid and have secured a spot in the Champions League knock-out rounds.
