Real Madrid President Florentino Perez has been re-elected to lead the Spanish football giants until 2029 after running unopposed in the club’s latest election.

In a statement, Real Madrid confirmed: “There having been only one candidacy… (Perez) is hereby proclaimed president of Real Madrid.”

The announcement followed a resounding 4-1 victory over Las Palmas, which saw Los Blancos climb to the top of the La Liga table.

Leadership Legacy

Florentino Perez, now 77, has served as the unchallenged president in four consecutive elections (2013, 2017, 2021, and 2025). His second tenure, which began in 2009, has cemented his reputation as one of the most successful figures in the club’s history.

Perez originally took office in 2000, introducing the famed “Galactico era,” which brought superstar signings like Zinedine Zidane and David Beckham to Madrid. After resigning in 2006, he returned in 2009, ushering in another golden age for the club.

Achievements

Under Florentino Perez’s leadership, Real Madrid has claimed an astonishing six UEFA Champions League titles, five LaLiga trophies, and several other prestigious accolades. His vision has helped maintain Madrid’s status as one of the world’s most decorated and financially robust football clubs.

Future Outlook

With Florentino Perez at the helm for another four years, Real Madrid is poised to continue its legacy of excellence both on and off the pitch. Fans and analysts alike will watch closely to see how he navigates challenges such as squad evolution, financial stability, and maintaining the club’s dominance in domestic and international competitions.
