Social media influencer and TikTok livestreamer Hamzat Habeeb, popularly known as Peller, has come under heavy public scrutiny after crashing his car while streaming live on Instagram on the Lekki-Epe Expressway in Lagos.
The incident occurred on Sunday during a livestream titled “RIP Peller,” which quickly spread across social media platforms. In the footage, Peller was seen driving alone in his newly acquired Mercedes-Benz, appearing emotionally overwhelmed and unsettled.
Throughout the broadcast, the influencer was visibly tearful while engaged in a phone conversation believed to be with his girlfriend, Jarvis, amid growing speculation about a possible breakup between them.
Viewers became increasingly alarmed as Peller made several disturbing remarks during the livestream. At one point, he said, “I will use this car and have an accident right now,” followed shortly by, “I’m scared. I’m scared.”
As his emotional outburst continued, he expressed fears of public ridicule, stating, “If you break up with me, people will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, they will be mocking me, they will be, they will be mocking me, they will not… Thank you, I’m going to kill myself.”
Moments after the statement, the livestream captured the influencer driving into another section of the road before deliberately crashing his vehicle into a stone, leading to a serious accident.
Subsequent clips shared online showed people at the scene assisting Peller before he was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the nature or extent of his injuries.

Images circulating online indicated that the Mercedes-Benz suffered extensive damage as a result of the crash.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions on social media, with many users voicing concern over Peller’s safety and mental state. Several commentators urged the Federal Road Safety Corps to look into the incident, pointing out that the action endangered both the influencer and other road users.
While some online users suggested the crash might have been staged for attention or content creation, others maintained that the act amounted to reckless behaviour and should not go without consequences.
As of the time of filing this report, Peller and relevant authorities have yet to issue any official statement regarding the incident.
