The family of late Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has appealed to the public to support his widow as she comes to terms with his death.
The singer died on October 14, although the circumstances surrounding his death have yet to be established.
In a message shared on his official Instagram page on October 21, the family called on fans, friends and well-wishers to assist his wife during the difficult period.
The post included a flier containing bank account details for donations, describing the contributions as a show of love and support for the bereaved family.
“A Call for Love & Support, as we mourn the loss of our beloved brother, let us stand with his wife during this difficult season,” the statement read.
“Every contribution, no matter how small, is a gesture of love and compassion.
“May God bless every giving heart and grant the family strength and comfort.”
The appeal comes as the family prepares to honour the late singer with a Night of Tributes and Service of Songs in recognition of his life and contributions to gospel music.
In an invitation shared online, the family described Toluwanisings as “our beloved brother, friend, and gospel minister,” adding that the gathering would celebrate the impact he made on the lives of many.
The family also expressed its grief while acknowledging the life he lived, stating that they mourned “with heavy hearts, yet in gratitude to God”.
The event is scheduled for October 27 at 3pm at the Hall of Grace, Jogor Centre, Ibadan, Oyo State. Attendees have been asked to wear white.
Toluwanisings was known for his energetic praise performances, Yoruba-inspired gospel songs and contemporary worship music. Some of his notable tracks include ‘A Very Big God’, ‘Eleda’ and ‘I’m Not Alone’.
Following his death, his personal assistant, Babadunni Gbolabo, recounted the singer’s final moments, saying he appeared to be in good health before suddenly collapsing.

According to Gbolabo, efforts were made to revive him before he was taken to several hospitals in Ibadan for medical attention.

The family’s appeal for financial assistance and plans for the tribute event come as relatives, friends and fans continue to mourn the gospel singer.
