Nollywood actress Eniola Badmus has pushed back strongly against online claims accusing her of pimping and exploitation, warning that legal steps would be taken to address the matter.

The controversy began after an X user, Femzydr1, alleged that Badmus runs a private network that connects young women to “top directors, movie executives, and politicians,” adding that the supposed links helped her gain political influence and led to the exploitation of several women.

“Popular Yoruba Actress Eniola Badmus is reportedly a private pimp in Nigeria and in the movie industry, linking young girls up with top directors, movie executives, and Nigerian politicians,” the post claimed.

“She surely gained entry into the political scene through this network, and many young girls have been exploited & used for different purposes by politicians through her connections.”

Reacting swiftly, the actress dismissed the claims as defamatory and cautioned that authorities would be involved.

“This is the attention you’ve been craving for, so let’s get in to it. This is a false accusation and authorities will step in. Let it be known that we do not forgive in this zone,” Badmus wrote.

Within hours, the accuser issued a public apology, acknowledging that the allegations were baseless and damaging.

“I sincerely apologize to Ms. Eniola Badmus, her family, friends, fans, and everyone affected by my recent tweet,” the statement read.

“The post accusing her of exploitation, linking young girls to movie and political figures, and pimping was wrong, irresponsible, and made without evidence. I deeply regret spreading such damaging and false information.”

The incident revives memories of a similar controversy in 2023, when TikToker Ego Okoye accused the actress of operating a prostitution ring involving women who had undergone cosmetic surgery. Following police investigations, Okoye admitted she had been paid N200,000 to make the claims.

Despite a public apology, Badmus pursued legal action, and a Lagos High Court eventually sentenced Okoye to three years imprisonment, with an alternative fine of N150,000.

Badmus has remained firm in her stance against defamatory attacks, stressing that false allegations would always be met with decisive legal action.
