The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has disowned a press release circulating online that claimed the agency was launching a recruitment exercise.
In a disclaimer issued on Wednesday and signed by its Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, NAFDAC described the recruitment announcement as false and confirmed it did not originate from the agency.
“Our attention has been drawn to a fake press release on the planned NAFDAC recruitment exercise circulating on social media.
“While NAFDAC from time to time carries out recruitment exercises to engage qualified Nigerians, the press release in circulation and its content are fake,” the agency said.
The statement urged the public to disregard the information and avoid being targeted by fraudsters, emphasising that no recruitment exercise has been announced.
“NAFDAC has not issued any press release announcing new recruitment,” the agency added.
NAFDAC explained that such fake notices are often spread by individuals seeking to defraud job seekers by demanding application or processing fees.

The agency stressed that all official announcements, including recruitment exercises, are communicated only through verified channels.
“Authentic information from NAFDAC is published exclusively on the official NAFDAC website and recognised media platforms,” the statement said.
NAFDAC also advised Nigerians, especially job seekers, to remain cautious and verify any recruitment-related information before taking action, noting that the agency does not charge fees for employment opportunities.
