Arsenal came from behind to claim a gritty 1–1 draw against a Chelsea side reduced to 10 men in a tense Premier League encounter at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
Chelsea struck first three minutes into the second half when Trevoh Chalobah beat his marker and powered in a header from a Reece James corner, giving the hosts a deserved lead after creating the better early opportunities. Pedro Neto, Estêvão and Joao Pedro all forced David Raya into action during a lively opening spell.
The momentum of the match shifted dramatically in the 38th minute. Moisés Caicedo, initially shown a yellow card for a heavy challenge on Mikel Merino, was dismissed after VAR upgraded the offence to a straight red, leaving Chelsea a man down for the remainder of the match.
Arsenal eventually made their numerical advantage count. Sustained pressure paid off in the 59th minute when Bukayo Saka floated in a superb delivery that Merino met with a firm header, beating Robert Sánchez to level the score.

Sánchez stood out for Chelsea, pulling off a string of impressive saves to deny Saka, Merino and Gabriel Martinelli, keeping the Blues in the contest despite their disadvantage.
Raya also produced key moments, including a sharp stop to tip Garnacho’s point-blank header wide.
Even with 10 men, Chelsea posed a threat on the counter, as Liam Delap and Neto forced late saves from Raya. Arsenal nearly snatched all three points in stoppage time, but Merino’s header in the dying moments drifted just over the bar.
The closing minutes were frantic, with both sides trading fouls, tactical changes and attacking flurries, yet neither team managed to produce a match-winning moment.
