The Nigerian Air Force has identified the 25 people who lost their lives in the aircraft crash that occurred in Igbokoda, Ondo State, on Monday.
The deceased comprised five crew members and 20 passengers, according to a statement issued by the Director of Public Relations and Information, NAF, Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame.
The aircraft was carrying out a routine mission from Benin to Lagos when it crashed in Igbokoda, the Air Force said.
Following the incident, search-and-rescue operations were immediately activated, with relevant authorities and emergency agencies mobilised to locate the aircraft and account for all those on board.
The NAF, however, confirmed that none of the occupants survived the crash.
Reacting to the incident, the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, expressed condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the victims.
Aneke described the crash as a deeply painful incident for the Nigerian Air Force and the country, while assuring the bereaved families that the Service would provide its full support during the mourning period.
The Chief of the Air Staff also directed that a comprehensive investigation be conducted to establish the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The NAF said it would continue to release timely and verified information as the investigation progresses.
The Air Force also appealed to members of the public to refrain from speculation and the circulation of unverified information, while urging people to respect the privacy and dignity of the victims’ families.
Ejodame further disclosed that a condolence register had been opened at the NAF Headquarters in Abuja. Senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, heads of security agencies and other sympathisers are expected to use the register to pay their respects.
