Not known to engage in online rant and fights, not a few followers and colleagues of Nollywood actress Biodun Okeowo, popularly known as Omoborty, were surprised when she took to Instagram live to debunk that she married a man ‘snatched’ from her godmother’s daughter.
Maybe if a gossip blog, Gistlovers, hadn’t written a story on what caused a strain in the cordial relationship between two actors—Omoborty and Toyin Afolayan aka Lola Idije— all the drama on Monday would not have happened.
After the blog post on what led to the crash of her friendship with Lola Idije, Omoborty reacted to a report that she snatched her husband, Adeniyi Olabiyi, from the daughter of a veteran actress, Toyin Afolayan, professionally known as Lola Idije.
Omoborty, during a live session on Instagram, accused a co-actress of being behind the report.
Okeowo, popularly known as Omoborty, said her husband had no ties to Lola Idije until she introduced them to one another.
She said: “My husband doesn’t know any of Actress Lola Idije’s daughters.
“In fact, it was through me that Actress Lola and my husband spoke for the first time.
“I didn’t snatch anybody’s husband. “Tosin, they said you are the one posting sub, please come out and clear these allegations.”
Then, on Monday evening, Lola Idije took to Instgaram and stated her side of the story—a Omoborty never sntached her daughter’s boyfriend
She wrote, “I want to address the story going around since yesterday and to clear the air. The first time I ever spoke to Omoborty’s husband was when she introduced him to me on a phone call. I did not know him before that. None of my daughters know him personally. Biodun aka Omoborty did not snatch my daughter’s boyfriend. I attended the wedding. There is no way she would do that and I will still attend the wedding. Thank you and I hope this clarifies everything…”
