Three students of Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, have died following a road crash along the Ilishan/Ago-Iwoye road.

Key Details:

  • Incident Overview: The accident occurred on Friday, December 20, 2024, at about 3:30 PM. The crash involved a commercial Opel Safira vehicle with license plate Lagos AAA-126HE. The driver, identified as Adekunkle Adebiyi, lost control due to overspeeding, causing the vehicle to flip into the bushes.
  • Casualties:
    • One male passenger, whose identity is yet to be confirmed, died at the scene.
    • Two female students—Dada Oluwanifesimi (18, sophomore in Mass Communication) and Miracle Ogo Oluwa Daniel (19, junior)—succumbed to injuries at Love and Care Hospital.
    • Two other students are receiving treatment at the Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Medical Centre on the Mini Campus.
  • Vehicle Recovery: The damaged vehicle has been secured at the police station.

The Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the incident and extended condolences to the families affected by the tragic loss.
