Alake stated that during the event, President Tinubu would provide a thorough report on the development of regional integration within ECOWAS.
The report, he continued, will detail the steps taken by ECOWAS institutions, member states, the private sector, and other stakeholders to enhance integration through a variety of initiatives, including trade facilitation, free movement of people, investment promotion, infrastructure development, and the promotion of peace, security, and stability.
At the completion of the meeting, President Tinubu, who would be joined by top government officials, is anticipated to return to the nation, according to Alake.
The AU’s 2023 theme, “Accelerating African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Implementation,” will be the focus of the 5th MYCM.
The eight REC heads will be present, as well as the Bureau of the AU Assembly, which includes the Heads of State and Government of Senegal, Botswana, Comoros, and Botswana.
