Meeting at Church
Timi Dakolo revealed that he first met Busola at church and asked her to be his date for a ball. She gave him her number but didn’t answer his calls, explaining later that her phone had been stolen. Despite initial setbacks, Timi remained persistent and eventually won her over.
The Branded Picanto
The singer fondly recounted how Busola used to feel embarrassed when he picked her up in the branded Picanto car he won as the first winner of Idols West Africa in 2007. Her initial reaction motivated Timi to prove himself.
“I said, ‘Okay, don’t worry. I will shock you. Don’t look down on me.’ And I did.”
