Reality TV star and entrepreneur Sophia Momodu has commenced legal action against fellow reality TV personality Caroline Hutchings, also known as Caroline Danjuma, over a Snapchat post she claims damaged her reputation.
The legal dispute stems from a post Caroline shared on Snapchat in which she alleged that a woman she had once defended on national television had a relationship with her former partner while they were still together. Although no name was mentioned, the post sparked widespread speculation on social media.
In response, Sophia, through her counsel, Prince (Dr.) Richard Oma Ahonaruogho (SAN) of Ahonaruogho, Ahonaruogho & Co. (Paradise Law Firm), issued a Notice of Intended Legal Proceedings demanding a public retraction, an unreserved apology, substantial monetary compensation and other remedies.
According to the notice, the Snapchat post was widely interpreted by members of the public as referring to Sophia, exposing her to cyberbullying, ridicule and defamatory comments that allegedly caused significant reputational and emotional harm.
The legal document further stated that Sophia attempted to resolve the matter privately by contacting Caroline on July 3, 2026, asking her to publicly clarify that the post was not about her if that was indeed the case.
However, the notice alleged that Caroline failed to respond or issue any clarification, allowing speculation to continue across social media platforms.
Sophia’s legal team maintained that the publication subjected her to embarrassment, emotional distress and injury to her reputation among relatives, friends, business associates and the wider public.
