Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North, has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after over two decades of membership.

Senator Ned Nwoko: In a resignation letter dated January 30, addressed to the party leadership in Ward 8, Aniocha North LGA, Delta State, Nwoko attributed his decision to deep divisions and irreconcilable factions within the party.
“My decision to resign is first and foremost due to the deep divisions and factionalisation within the party. This fragmentation has made it increasingly difficult to foster unity and advance the collective interests of our people,” he stated.
Senator Ned Nwoko also referenced a physical altercation among PDP top officials on January 29, highlighting the internal crisis as a major concern.
Despite his exit, Nwoko reaffirmed his commitment to serving his constituents, stating that the PDP’s current structure in Delta State was hindering his ability to fulfill campaign promises.
“While I bid farewell to my membership in the PDP, I assure all party members and my constituents of my unwavering dedication to statesmanship,” he added.
Nwoko, who serves as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Reparations and Repatriations and Vice Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment and Sports Development, emphasized that his decision was made in the best interest of his people.
