Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has unveiled a governorship ticket featuring Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat and sustainability expert Princess Damilola Sonayon-James, describing the duo as capable of sustaining Lagos State’s development drive and governance continuity.
In a statement released on Thursday, Sanwo-Olu said the ticket represents the “strength, diversity, and future” of Lagos State, as the administration prepares for the next phase of leadership transition.
“Today, I present a ticket that reflects the strength, diversity, and future of our great state,” he said.
The governor emphasised that effective governance depends on the ability to groom and entrust leadership to competent individuals who can continue ongoing development programmes and uphold policy direction.
He praised Hamzat for his role as a consistent partner in government, noting that his experience in public administration and policy execution has contributed significantly to the achievements of the current administration.
Sanwo-Olu added that Hamzat is well positioned to consolidate ongoing projects and deepen reforms across key sectors in the state.
He also described Sonayon-James as a grassroots advocate and sustainability professional with strong ties to community development and youth empowerment initiatives.
According to him, her inclusion on the ticket reflects efforts to broaden representation and strengthen inclusive governance in Lagos.
