The political turmoil in Rivers State has taken a new turn as Governor Siminalayi Fubara has invited members of the state House of Assembly led by Speaker Martin Amaewhule to a crucial meeting.

The invitation was confirmed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr Tammy Danagogo, citing the Governor’s receipt of the Supreme Court’s Certified True Copy of its recent judgment.
The meeting, scheduled for Monday, March 10, at the Government House in Port Harcourt, aims to address key issues, including securing a functional legislative space for the lawmakers, settling outstanding allowances, and discussing the presentation of the 2025 budget.
This move comes amid heightened tensions between pro-Fubara and pro-Wike factions within the Assembly, with ongoing calls for reconciliation.
