Omotayo made the appeal on Saturday in Jos, Plateau State, during a town hall meeting attended by market women, youth groups, labour leaders, farmers, traditional rulers, government officials, and students.
Tinubu’s Commitment to Nigerians
Addressing concerns over the impact of the subsidy removal, Omotayo reassured Nigerians that:
✅ The resources from the subsidy removal have been distributed among all states.
✅ President Tinubu has already increased workers’ salaries, with more increments planned.
✅ The free student loan initiative has been introduced to support education, with repayment starting only two years after securing a job.
“Mr President needs a little thank you from us. He has not spent one year in office, yet he has increased salaries. This is not the end of salary increments during his tenure.” – Omotayo
She further urged Nigerians to apply for the student loan, stressing that it requires no collateral and benefits students across all regions.
A Call for Unity and Accountability
Omotayo also praised Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang for his commitment to democracy and inclusivity, stating:
“We are not running a partisan or religious-bigot government but an all-inclusive one. Let us work together to build a country that works for all of us.”
She urged Nigerians to hold their representatives accountable rather than blaming President Tinubu, emphasizing that the administration’s ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda is focused on national development.
Governor Mutfwang Acknowledges Tinubu’s Efforts
Governor Mutfwang, represented by the Commissioner for Youths, Musa Ashoms, expressed gratitude for the town hall meeting and praised the President for his ongoing developmental efforts in Plateau State.
“Like Oliver Twist, we are asking for more. As Plateau State, it is our time for development.” – Mutfwang
Omotayo’s remarks reflect the administration’s continued push for national unity and economic reform, despite public concerns over fuel subsidy removal.
