Brighton & Hove Albion’s struggles continued as they played out a goalless draw against Brentford in a Premier League mid-table clash at a mist-shrouded American Express Stadium on Friday.
Despite controlling the game and creating multiple chances in the Premier League match, Fabian Hurzeler’s side extended their winless streak to six matches.
Brighton, now 10th with 26 points from 18 games, were unable to find a breakthrough against 11th-placed Brentford, who remain winless on the road this season.
The Seagulls set the tone early, with 20-year-old Julio Enciso rattling the woodwork after intercepting a loose pass from Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken.
Enciso was relentless, recording eight shots in the first half—the most by any Premier League player in a first half since Luis Suarez in 2013.
Brentford, however, thought they had taken the lead against the run of play when Yoane Wissa fired a stunning strike into the top corner, only for the goal to be ruled out for offside.
Despite Brighton’s dominance and a barrage of attempts on goal, they failed to convert, leaving both sides to share the points in a result reflective of their ongoing challenges this season.
