The Nigerian Police have indicated plans to investigate the troubling incidents involving social media influencer King Mitchy, who has appeared in two separate live videos allegedly attempting to ingest harmful substances.
The issue was brought to the attention of law enforcement by former police spokesperson Muyiwa Adejobi, who tagged the current spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin, along with the official police X handle, while sharing footage from the most recent episode.
The development follows weeks of intense online tension between King Mitchy and controversial social media critic VeryDarkMan, popularly known as VDM. Their highly publicised feud reportedly stemmed from allegations surrounding the credibility of their respective charity efforts.
The situation escalated dramatically during a live broadcast in which Mitchy was seen tearfully consuming a substance believed to be “hypo,” a household bleach, as alarmed viewers pleaded with her to stop.
Shortly after, her management announced that she had died from ingesting the chemical. However, the statement was later withdrawn, with clarification that she was alive and receiving medical attention.
