Former beauty queen and Nollywood actress, Peggy Ovire became a hot topic when her closeness with actor cum model, Frederick Leonard became public.
It became a hotter topic when they allegedly split in March this year.
Prior the break-up, everyone thought they would end up as another Nollywood couple.
Surprisingly, Peggy disclosed in an interview with SUNDAY PUNCH that she never dated Frederick.
She declared: “I don’t know why this issue keeps coming up. Frederick Leonard is my friend who encourages me. In the entertainment industry, it is very difficult to find someone that would look out for you and advise you. He does all that for me and other people in the industry as well. He is like my brother. Contrary to what was reported, I have never been married in my life and I have never even introduced any man to my dad. I am still single.”
Asked how she has handled scandals and Peggy, who is a close friend of actress Moyo Lawal said, “It’s funny when I read negative things about myself because the people who write these things don’t know what’s going on in my life. Most times, I just read the headlines, laugh, and move on. It’s just painful that some people are deceived by what they read, and do not understand that you don’t have to believe everything you see on social media. I am a very quiet and shy person and I keep to myself a lot.”
