Amidst growing concerns on the state of his 17-month-old marriage to Olori Wuraola, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has dismissed rumors about the alleged crash of the union.
He said they are happily living together in the palace.
On Monday, there was a report by a news portal, The Capital.ng, that the royal marriage had crumbled like a pack of badly stacked cards.
According to report which described the marriage as a “sham” Olori Wuraola was allegedly accused of “many unpublishable things and lack of commitment to her marital vows.”
Speaking through his media aide, the Ooni debunked rumours of a collapsed marriage.
“There is no truth to the news, it is unimaginable. We would issue a statement on the matter soon. The palace is not interested in this rumour as there are lots of positive activities happening every minute so we don’t have time to respond to such noise being created by nonentities,” the media aide reiterated.
Meanwhile, the palace spokesperson did not broach the issue of the monarch taking another wife, who is Yoruba and also a queen like Wuraola. The Abeokuta-born new queen is said to live in the personal house of the monarch and not the palace.
