Nigerian businessman and ex-husband of actress Tonto Dikeh, Olakunle Churchill, has addressed speculation about his connection with former president Olusegun Obasanjo.
The clarification came after a fan commented on videos of Churchill attending Obasanjo’s 89th birthday, jokingly suggesting that the former president had given birth to him.
Responding, Churchill explained that a father figure is not necessarily the person who gave birth to you, but someone who plays a meaningful role in guiding, mentoring, and supporting you while growing up.
“A father figure is not only the one who birthed you. It can be an uncle, relative, or family friend who adopted and raised you, who was there for you from childhood – guiding, mentoring, and raising you into the person you are today. What matters is the role he played in shaping your life and the respect you have for him,” he said.

Churchill also revealed that, through Obasanjo’s influence, he was able to attend a military school in Abeokuta, where he spent much of his formative years.
“Through his influence, I attended a military school in Abeokuta and spent my childhood there. Today, I am strong,” he added.
His comments highlight the impact of mentorship and guidance in shaping his personal and professional journey, emphasizing that fatherhood extends beyond biological ties.
