Nigerians have expressed their condolences following the passing of the Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Ado Ibrahim, a prominent ruler in Kogi State. The monarch passed away at the age of 95 after a brief illness. He will be laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs.

Ado Ibrahim was coronated as the Ohinoyi of Ebira land in 1997, succeeding his predecessor, Alhaji Sanni Omolorim, who had reigned from 1957 to 1997.

Born on February 7, 1929, Ado Ibrahim received education in both Western nursery and Quranic schools, and he completed his primary education in 1940. He pursued his secondary education at Ondo Boys High School and Oduduwa College, graduating in 1949. He furthered his education by obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics in 1954 and a master’s degree from Harvard Business School in 1959.

President Tinubu also conveyed his condolences to the government and people of Kogi State, describing the late monarch as a peace-loving, affable, and cerebral figure. He praised the Ohinoyi’s wisdom and sophistication and expressed his hope that Almighty Allah would grant the late monarch a place in Aljannah Firdaus.

Tinubu encouraged the people of Kogi State to find solace in the legacy of peace and unity left behind by the late Ohinoyi.
