Nigerian Fuji musician Adewale Ayuba has announced plans to release his new five-track album, Arise, on September 19, 2026.
Ayuba made this known on Tuesday during an interview with journalists in Lagos, describing the project as the start of a fresh phase in his music career.
The Fuji star explained that Arise reflects a change in his approach to making and releasing music, as he intends to move away from lengthy albums and extended songs in favour of shorter releases and singles.
“I’m no longer going to do long-form albums or 33-minute songs. I’m going with singles. That’s why I called it Arise — the beginning of another journey in my life,” he said.
Ayuba said the decision to put together the five-track project followed the positive response to some of his recent singles, particularly “Koloba Koloba” and “Uncommon”.
He explained that the singles were initially released to gauge how listeners would respond to his new musical direction before he proceeded with the album.
“The two singles that I did, including Koloba Koloba, were just to sample and see whether people would appreciate them. Now, I see the kind of love they show to me through Koloba Koloba, and Uncommon. I have now done five songs together in one album. In the album, we have Ileke, All Over the World, Kututu, Yetunde and one more,” he said.
The “Bonsue Fuji” crooner also stressed that his music was built around meaningful messages rather than entertainment alone.
According to him, adopting a shorter and more frequent release format would not affect the quality or substance of his work, while versatility would remain central to his artistry.

“I just want people to know that I’m versatile; I can do anything with music,” Ayuba said.
He encouraged fans and other music lovers to listen to Arise when it becomes available on September 19 and judge the five-track project for themselves.
Ayuba added that the album would be released globally, describing it as the beginning of another chapter in his musical journey.
