Corps members across Nigeria will soon begin receiving a new monthly allowance of ₦77,000, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General YD Ahmed, has revealed.

The announcement, signed by Caroline Embu, the Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, was made on Tuesday. Ahmed assured that all arrangements for the rollout of the improved package have been finalized.

“Corps members across Nigeria will soon begin receiving a new monthly allowance of ₦77,000,” the statement confirmed.

At the event, Ahmed reiterated his administration’s dedication to corps members’ welfare. He noted that the newly donated bus to the scheme would ease transportation challenges for corps members and NYSC staff in the Federal Capital Territory.

In a gesture of appreciation, Ahmed thanked Capital Express Insurance Company for the donation, describing it as a testament to the long-standing partnership between the NYSC and the insurance firm.

Capital Express Insurance Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Matthew Ogwezhi, highlighted the benefits of their collaboration with the NYSC, stating that the donation was part of the company’s commitment to supporting the scheme.

The new allowance signals a significant improvement in the welfare of corps members and reflects the NYSC’s commitment to their well-being.
