An officer of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), identified as Mr. Solomon Ogodo, has been handed a seven-year prison sentence for forgery, employment fraud, and racketeering.

Justice M.S. Idris of the Federal Capital Territory High Court in Jabi, Abuja, delivered the judgement.

The case, filed by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), revealed that Mr. Ogodo defrauded job seekers of a total of ₦12,200,000.

He promised to secure employment for their relatives in the Nigeria Correctional Services but failed to fulfill his fraudulent claims.

The court’s ruling underscores the ongoing efforts to combat corruption and employment scams in the public sector.
