With the funeral rites progressing to interment this morning at the Ikoyi Cemetery, Lagos, a member of the Moji Olaiya Burial Committee , who is also the Publicity Secretary, actor Yomi Fabiyi, took to Instagram to express gratitude to former Lagos State governor, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and a chieftain of the National Union of Road Transport Workers,NURTW, Musiliu Akinsanya aka MC Oluomo.

According to Fabiyi, Oluomo facilitated the speedy meeting of the committee with Asiwaju, who is also a top leader in the ruling All Progressives Party.

Yomi writes:

“Asiwaju Bola Tinubu with God and your kindness( reception and financial support brought Moji home. You shall live longer sir. You did this honour to us, she cannot say thank you but deep down in my heart I say thank you sir.
The little 2-month old cannot say thank you to you but I say it on her behalf.

Adun may have said thank you the other day but I say it on her behalf again. You made it possible for everyone associated to Moji Olaiya to bury her where it will be best convenient for them to visit her tomb, offer prayers, have conversation at their solemn moments and drop flowers perhaps on her on her birthdays, New Years & Death Anniversary. They can even go with their spouses and children in future. YOU DID NOT SPONSOR JUST A BODY HOME BUT YOU MADE THAT PHYSICAL BONDS BETWEEN THEM THAT MONEY CANNOT BUY POSSIBLE AND EASY.
MOJ GAVE HER ALL FOR THESE CHILDREN TO HAVE BETTER LIVES. THEY WILL NEVER FORGET THIS LOVE AND HONOUR.

I must thank you too Alhaji Musiliu Akinsanya @mcoluomo and Alhaji Yinka Quadri @yinkaquadrifilms for your pragmatic effort that morning. God bless you both because despite the short notice you got to Asiwaju’s house before Committee members that morning.
Uncle Yinka Farinde from Canada, you are an angel. I cannot begin to go into details of your role. Welcome to Naija with the baby.

Committee will release FULL Official Appreciation list shortly after MOJ’s burial. We will mention everybody bam bam.” (sic)

Moji Olaiya, who was one of the children of highlife music icon, Victor Olaiya, died on May 18 while abroad, two months after the birth of her baby. She had her second daughter in March and reports have it that she must have suffered complications as a result of childbirth. Her baby was born premature.

The deceased is survived by her two parents, her two daughters— one aged 20 and the other only two months old who she had gone to be delivered of in Canada.
