Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson has spoken out against online trolls and platforms she accused of spreading false stories about her and her family, while confirming that she has withdrawn charges against Eedie Bliss.
In a message shared on her Instagram page on Monday, the actress explained that she decided to discontinue the case out of respect for individuals who intervened on behalf of the accused.
“We have decided to withdraw the charges against the lady in question because of the love and respect we have for numerous individuals that reached out,” she said.
While Mercy acknowledged the decision to let the matter go, she made it clear that such leniency would not extend into the future. The actress warned that she would no longer tolerate similar actions going forward, urging people to keep her family out of online controversies.

She also revealed that she intends to prioritise her personal and professional goals for the year rather than repeatedly responding to defamation issues, stressing that persistent attacks would now be met with legal action.
“Hi guys, good morning from the other side. First and foremost let me just say thank you all for supporting my craft. I do not take your love for granted,” she said. “But I felt the need to say that it’s no longer going to be business as usual. I have plans later this year for things I have to do online, and having plans to make trouble and court cases is going to be part of them because some people just won’t leave me and my family alone.”
Mercy’s statement serves as a firm warning to bloggers and social media users who spread unverified stories, as the actress insists she will take a tougher stance against defamation in the coming year.
