A video that has gone viral on social media shows a man reportedly entering a church vigil in Ibeku, Umuahia, Abia State, brandishing a cutlass to protest noise pollution.
In the footage shared on Tuesday, the man is seen inside the church, holding the cutlass while telling the congregation to leave, even as members tried to calm him down.
The incident has sparked reactions online, with many users on X (formerly Twitter) weighing in on the issue of noise pollution in residential areas.
One user, #mrboboskie, wrote: “Noise pollution isn’t a good thing but the church members no do well, dem suppose give the man correct beating for showing up with a cutlass.”
Another user, #dahtgirl_ajex, commented: “I wanted to say this is not the right approach but what if he has approached the right sources and nothing was done and he couldn’t bear it again. You can tell he has endured enough. Please stop building church in residential areas.”
