Timileyin Ajayi, a 32-year-old man, has been remanded by the Criminal Investigation Department of the Nasarawa State Police Command in Lafia for the alleged murder of 24-year-old corps member death, Salome Adaidu.

Adaidu, serving in Abuja, was reportedly killed during a visit to Ajayi’s residence in New Karshi, Karu Local Government Area, Nasarawa State.
Ajayi was arrested on January 12 while allegedly attempting to dispose of Adaidu’s severed head after dismembering her body. He was paraded at the Nasarawa State Police Command headquarters along with the weapons reportedly used in the crime.
Suspect’s Confession
In an interview with Channels Television, Ajayi admitted to the crime, claiming it was unplanned and driven by jealousy. “I killed her because we don’t have each other all the time. It’s not something I planned. It happened on that day because she was cheating. I saw her chats with other guys on her phone,” Ajayi said.
When asked about remorse, he added, “I don’t have any regrets because life is reciprocal. If you must do something to someone, you have to be reciprocal.”
Victim’s Family Speaks Out
Adaidu’s family denied any knowledge of a relationship between her and Ajayi. Her sister, Esther Adaidu, demanded justice, saying, “We don’t know this so-called Timi guy. We only heard about him after he murdered and dismembered my sister.”
Her uncle, Samson Adaidu, described the horrific details of the crime, stating, “He butchered her into pieces, leaving the body in six polythene bags as if preparing it for consumption.”

Police Assurances
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Ramhan Nansel, assured the public that the suspect would face justice.
“Upon concluding the investigation, Ajayi will be arraigned in court for prosecution. We urge anyone with further complaints against the suspect to come forward,” Nansel stated.
While media reports identified Ajayi as a gospel singer, he described himself as a cryptocurrency trader during his interview.
