First, he is angry that the Lagos State government is throwing its weight behind a law that separates homes.
The estranged husband of actress Mercy Aigbe, Lanre Gentry, did not stop at that.
On Father’s Day, he gave a shout-out to his son, Juwon, who had his birthday on that day.
Juwon lives with his mother, Mercy Aigbe, who is now separated from her husband.
Then, Gentry cast aspersions on Mercy Aigbe’s acceptance of being a Widows’ Liberty Ambassador:
On May 19, 2017, the Nollywood actress was nominated as an Ambassador for the Felix King Foundation Widows Maltreatment Abolishment.

On the occasion, Mercy had posted on social media:
“Today , history beckons as I add my voice to the movement that will hopefully inspire the abolishment of widows’ maltreatment in our
communities. It’s heart breaking to realise that with all the societal advancements, a
reasonable segment of our society which constitutes over 8 million disadvantaged widows and 24 million children below age 17 are still
subject to maltreatment that include; domestic violence, sexual assault, conversion of properties, forced evictions, neglects, denial of human
rights and the list goes on.
I stand with widows today, will you join me?
let’s protect the rights of widows and women. I believe no woman deserves to be maltreated regardless of the circumstances life throws at her.

eventually inspire communities across Africa to seek for this all important change. I just pledged my voice as a “Widows’Liberty Ambassador”
for the Felix King Foundation Liberty Project for the abolishment of widows’ maltreatment in Africa, WILL YOU?
Please join me to raise the 1 million pledges. it takes less than a minute to sign on but you’ll be changing the life of a widow and more widows to

Gentry and Mercy’s seven-year-old union, which produced a son, made headlines when on Friday April 28; photos of a battered Mercy Aigbe-Gentry went viral online!
She was said to have been battered by her husband, Lanre Gentry and had suffered injuries on her face.
The actress moved out of her marriage, reported to the Anti-Domestic Violence Unit of the Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and the husband was charged to court. He spent seven days at the Kirikiri prisons after which he was released on bail.
The case is still in court but adjourned till July.
Recall that the State Government in a letter written through the Directorate of Public Prosecutions, DPP, May 22, has indicated its interest in prosecuting the alleged case of assault. The request for the case file shows Government’s resolve not to back down from the case between actress and her husband.
Meanwhile, Lanre Gentry has pulled down the post from his Instagram handle.
