Kim and Kanye West are said to be welcoming a baby girl in January 2018 after hiring a surrogate to help them expand their family.
According to TMZ, the pair decided to have a third baby via surrogacy because of Kim’s well-documented medical issues during her previous pregnancies.
Another source told People: “The entire family is over the moon.
“Given her health scares in the past, Kim felt the need to hire a surrogacy agency that helped serve as the liaison in finding a healthy woman who would be a great surrogate option for her and Kanye.
“Both of them have been super involved in the process.”
What is surrogacy?
Surrogacy is the name given for a type of pregnancy where a woman carries and gives birth to another person’s baby.
The surrogate mother is then expected to give up the baby at birth, so it can be raised by the couple who originally wanted the baby.
Surrogacy is often an option for those unable to have children themselves, or for same sex couples.
According to surrogacy charity Childlessness Overcome Through Surrogacy (COTS), there are two different types of surrogacy.
• Traditional surrogacy: When the surrogate uses her own egg fertilised with the intended father’s sperm.
• Gestational surrogacy: The surrogate carries the intended parent’s genetic child conceived through IVF, for which specialist doctors are needed
Who is Kim and Kanye’s surrogate?
Now details of the alleged surrogate mother have been leaked – giving fans some information about the woman who will carry a little sister to North and Saint West.
According to TMZ, the woman carrying the baby of 36-year-old Kim and 40-year-old Kanye is in her 20s and is African-American.
The news site also states the surrogate is married, has been for five years, and has two boys of her own.
In July 2017 it was reported that Kim and Kanye are using an “agency” surrogate to have a third child.
The surrogate was thought to be three months pregnant when the news broke, and the couple allegedly paid £90,000 to kick off this process.
The identity of Kimye’s surrogate is being kept private and she is reportedly being “pampered” by the couple as she carries their bundle of joy.
A source -who claimed the surrogate was expecting twins – told Life & Style magazine: “The surrogate is being pampered and given everything she wants. Kim has been checking in and bringing her whatever she needs. So far she has gotten a clean bill of health.
“They have hired security for the surrogate, because Kanye doesn’t want to take any chances with the safety of the baby. The security is very low-key, because Kanye doesn’t want the neighbors to realize the surrogate is carrying their baby.
Who are their children and what are their ages?
Kim and Kanye’s first child was North, who turned four on June 15, 2017.
Their second child – son Saint – was born on December 5, 2015, making him one year old.
The revelation of Kimye’s decision to use a surrogate came after Kim revealed she could “bleed to death” if she carried another child.
What will Kim and Kanye name their third child?
Kimye has chosen rather distinctive names for their children so far, and it’s safe to assume they will do the same for their third child.
According to E! News, North’s name started out as a rumor, but is something that Kanye and Kardashian quickly fell in love with.
One thing we do know is the pair will shy away from names beginning with a K – despite it being Kardashian tradition.
Kim previously explained in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians: “If we name our kid with a K name which is kind of what we want, mainly just because Kanye and I are K’s, then they’re going to call us the KKK.”
