Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has responded strongly to accusations made by the brother of her late colleague, Allwell Ademola, following the actress’ passing.
It was earlier reported that Allwell Ademola died after suffering a heart attack at her home, with several Nollywood actors including Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams and Bidemi Kosoko taking to social media to mourn her.
However, shortly after the news broke, Ademola’s brother publicly criticised some of her colleagues for sharing tribute posts, questioning how many of them genuinely supported her while she was alive. In a video, he called out several industry figures by name, including Iyabo Ojo and Lateef Adedimeji.
He said, “Everybody dey post all well rest in peace, how many of you supported my sister when she was alive? All of una A-list actor wey call una self her friends, Iyabo Ojo all of una.
“Me I just remember say my sister carry all of una join body. Lateef Oladimeji, Owo Nikoko, you come to our house to shoot films. When all of you were doing movies, did you put Allwell?
“But now, you guys are posting my sister say our sister, our producer, our director, did you guys ever promote any of her movies? You guys should stop posting my sister. You guys don’t know her age. She is not 43, ok. Are you guys m@d? Did you honour her when she was alive?”

Reacting to the claims, Iyabo Ojo defended herself, insisting she stood by the late actress both professionally and personally. She said she consistently supported Allwell Ademola during her journey as a producer and director.
“I oversupported your sister when she was alive. When she was building her career as a producer and director, I featured in her movies countless times for free, and I also supported her financially and emotionally. May her beautiful soul continue to rest in perfect peace,” Iyabo wrote.
The exchange has since sparked conversations online, with fans and industry observers reacting to the emotional fallout following the actress’ death.
