Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo has strongly reacted to Naira Marley after the singer leaked their past conversations in an attempt to discredit her.
Earlier today, screenshots of Iyabo Ojo’s chats with Naira Marley surfaced online, sparking debates about the nature of their relationship. The leaked messages seemed to contradict her previous stance that she had no close ties with the singer.
In response, Iyabo Ojo released additional screenshots, explaining that their interactions were strictly professional and centred around promoting music artists.
According to her, she first contacted Naira Marley after he reached out through her son, Festus Ojo, in 2020. She admitted to promoting his music and even inviting him to events like her movie premiere and her mother’s burial.
However, she insisted that her recent criticism of Naira Marley had nothing to do with their past interactions. Instead, she questioned his silence amid allegations that his associate, Sam Larry, bullied the late singer Mohbad.
She further revealed that she had become aware of more disturbing allegations against Naira Marley, which she vowed to address in court if necessary.
I never accused him of killing Mohbad,” she clarified, “but the evidence suggests Mohbad’s life was threatened, and Naira Marley failed to intervene.
Iyabo Ojo maintained that her advocacy against injustice would not be influenced by personal connections, stating, “Naira Marley, you were mistaken if you thought I’d stay silent.”
