It was a Sunday to remember indeed.
Just as news filtered in that ex beauty queen, Ibidun Ighodalo is dead, many were surprised to see her husband, Pastor Ituah conducting a funeral in church.
The deceased, Ayodeji Akinwande Modupe-Johnson was one of the sons of Biola Okoya.
The mother of the deceased is one of the daughters of billionaire businessman, Rasaq Okoya.
Ayodeji died on Friday, June 12 after a brief illness.
He was 24 years old.
Survived by his mum, Biola Okoya and his two siblings-Ayomide and Ayobola, Ayodeji’s remains were interred on Sunday June 14.
Biola, who converted to Christianity a few years ago is a member of the Trinity House Church, Ikoyi Lagos.
Founded by Pastor Ituah,Ighodalo, he ministered at Ayodeji’s funeral despite learning of his wife’s demise around 2am on Sunday.
In his sermon, Pastor Ituah talked about life and why people need to move on.
Speaking in parts, he said, “Everywhere is tense, confused, frightening and disturbing but we are here today.
“If we they had told us last Sunday, that we would be here celebrating Ayodeji’s life, we would say it is impossible. He was ill no doubt but we were believing God that he would be well
A lot of you would know that I really shouldn’t be here today but that that is how life is. About 2 o’clock this morning, I received a call that shattered my life. But life must go on…Life is a deep mystery. ”
Ibidunni, a humble and caring woman, died on Sunday morning of heart attack in Port Harcourt where she was handling COVID-19 isolation centre projects.
Announcing her death, Asue Ighodalo in a statement issued on behalf of the family said: “The Ighodalo and Olaleye Ajayi families are deeply saddened to announce the sudden loss of our beloved wife and daughter Mrs. Ibidunni Ituah-Ighodalo who passed away in the early hours of today.
“As you will understand, this is a difficult time for our families and we will appreciate some privacy during this time. All information of burial proceedings will be provided in due course.”
