Nigerian TikTok star Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has reassured fans that the temporary suspension of TikTok live streams during late-night hours in Nigeria will not affect his finances.

TikTok recently restricted access to its LIVE feature during nighttime as part of a safety review, also preventing Nigerian users from viewing live broadcasts from other countries during these hours.

The platform issued a notice titled “LIVE⚫ Notices – TikTok LIVE Update in Nigeria”, stating: “We’re temporarily limiting LIVE late at night in Nigeria as part of our investigation to ensure our platform remains safe and our community stays protected.”

In a video shared on Instagram, Peller responded to critics who suggested he might struggle without live streams. He explained that his financial stability comes from multiple brand partnerships and endorsements.

“People are expecting me to be crying after TikTok banned live in Nigeria, thinking I’ll go hungry. I’m an ambassador to numerous brands, and none of my endorsements is less than ₦40 million,” he said.

Peller highlighted that his income is not solely dependent on TikTok, noting that long-term collaborations with brands secure his earnings. He also mentioned his commitment to fans, often redistributing gifts from live streams through giveaways.

He further pointed out the platform’s role in helping young Nigerians grow their audience and income quickly, something he says is harder to achieve on other social media platforms.

“Many people will grow on TikTok. You can’t grow on Instagram the same way. Before you make it there, you will post plenty… TikTok is easier to grow on,” he explained.

Peller warned that restricting nighttime livestreams could affect engagement and revenue for creators who rely on the platform. “Those girls who want them want to ban the TikTok night livestream, you will still be on TikTok every day,” he said, urging authorities and platform managers to consider the broader economic impact of such restrictions.

He concluded by emphasizing that TikTok remains a vital and accessible platform for young Nigerians seeking opportunities for visibility, income, and creative growth.
