Veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor Ganiu Nofiu, popularly known as Alapini Osha, has recounted a painful period in his life marked by serious illness and the loss of his young son.
In an interview with Oyinmomo TV, the actor revealed that he battled a health condition for about a year, during which he could not sleep either day or night.
He explained that despite his condition, he does not believe it was connected to his profession, noting that people outside the entertainment industry also experience life-threatening illnesses.
“I was sick for a whole year; I couldn’t sleep, neither day nor night. I never believed it was my movie roles that caused it, because people who are not actors also fall sick and d!e,” he said.

The actor further disclosed that during the period he was still struggling with his health, he suffered the devastating loss of his four-year-old child.
“While I was three months ill, I lost my four-year-old child,” he added.
