Nollywood actress Funke Etti has spoken about an alleged encounter with a movie director whom she accused of making unwanted sexual advances towards her.
Etti made the revelation while speaking with Doyin Kukoyi, recalling an incident that allegedly occurred on a movie set where she had been selected for a lead role.
The actress said the producer had informed her that she would play the lead character. However, she claimed the director later asked her to meet him in his room.
Etti said she honoured the request because she respects people in positions of authority, but alleged that the director attempted to convince her to have sex with him.
According to her, she rejected the alleged advance, after which the director reportedly changed his attitude towards her and spoke negatively about her to the producer.
She claimed that the director told the producer she was not the right person for the role because she had refused his advances.

“I was on a movie set where the producer told me I would play the lead role. But the director said I should come and see him in his room. As someone who respects authority, I went.
“He tried to lure me into having s3x with him, but I refused.
“Shockingly, after I said no, the director went behind me to tell the producer that I wasn’t perfect for the role – just because I refused him.”
Etti’s account adds to ongoing conversations about alleged sexual pressure and abuse of power within the entertainment industry.
